WWEFastlane brought some fantastic action while also delivering some great storyline elements that helped to advance some current angles ongoing right now. It allowed fans to feel invested, and like their viewership meant something, but the show is now in the past and WWE's creative team needs to focus on what is next.

The company has some big shows coming up with Crown Jewel and Survivor Series, both of which WWE will be wanting to load up. This is something that should lead to a lot of big matches taking place, and there were certainly some big moments at this event the company can now capitalize on.

10 Roman Reigns' Fury

Roman Reigns Undisputed WWE Champion SmackDown July 7, 2023 Cropped

Roman Reigns has been gone for a while now, and since his departure, it's fair to say that The Bloodline has been less than solid. They haven't been as dominant, which is something that has sent Paul Heyman grey. However, the return of his Tribal Chief could change all of that, but Reigns is unlikely to be happy.

Seeing a furious Reigns return looking to re-establish his faction's dominance on the WWE landscape could be a lot of fun to see. After Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso lost at Fastlane there is an easy reason to bring a more aggressive edge to his character, which would be a great twist for him.

9 LA Knight Challenges Roman Reigns

LA Knight at Fastlane

With Roman Reigns on his way back there is a lot of talk about who will be the next person to step up and challenge him, and that could be LA Knight. He might not be the person to dethrone Reigns, but he is certainly popular enough to be a valid challenger who fans would get behind at a premium live event.

Having them feud would make sense given that it was Knight who got the pinfall to win the tag team match at Fastlane. He's got a legitimate claim over The Bloodline because of that, which should set up a title shot.

8 Debut Jade Cargill On The Main Roster

Jade Cargill did appear at Fastlane, but that was only in a backstage segment as she was shown entering the arena to meet Triple H. This is a sign that she will be appearing on the main roster first rather than going to NXT, but it is still not confirmed.

That is something that WWE should make official, whether it is at Crown Jewel or an event or after that point. Fans want to see her as a top star in the company, and the only way to guarantee that is with a main roster debut.

7 John Cena & AJ Styles Face Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso

John Cena and AJ Styles

John Cena is likely going to be heading back to Hollywood soon, but he has been advertised to be part of Crown Jewel, so it is expected he will be competing on that show. A great way to do that would be another tag team match against Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso.

While it would be a repeat of Fastlane, it could be booked as a challenge to The Bloodline members by Roman Reigns to prove themselves. Meanwhile, this would also be an easy way to bring AJ Styles back onto television, allowing him to do most of the work inside the ring which protects Cena.

6 Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn Challenge The New Champions

Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso become Tag Team Champions

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have an interesting dynamic right now when it comes to Jey Uso, with KO not trusting him while Zayn does. Cody Rhodes has also trusted the former Bloodline star and that has led to them becoming the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

However, tapping into those issues now with the Tag Team titles could be a lot of fun. Even if it's for a one-off match, this would be a great in-ring contest and could tap into various issues at the same time.

5 Charlotte Flair vs. Iyo Sky

One obvious match that WWE can book coming out of this event is for Charlotte Flair to challenge Iyo Sky for the WWE Women's Championship. Sky was able to retain at Fastlane, but that came after a distraction from Bayley which stopped the official from seeing Flair submit Asuka.

That moment was missed by the official due to Bayley, meaning the Queen should technically have won. That gives her an obvious grievance and it should lend itself nicely for them to have a singles match.

4 Iyo Sky Questions Bayley

Damage CTRL SmackDown September 8, 2023 Cropped

Heading into the triple threat match at Fastlane Iyo Sky had made it clear she wanted to compete by herself without the help of her Damage CTRL stablemates. However, Bayley couldn't help herself and she ended up getting involved in the match at ringside.

Ultimately, Bayley did help Sky retain the title, and without her, she might have lost. However, this could still lead to Sky questioning Bayley which would be a great storyline element for them to keep moving forward with.

3 Bobby Lashley's Group Becomes Intense

Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits

Bobby Lashley pairing up with The Street Profits was an interesting idea on paper, but so far it hasn't quite clicked on television. A big reason for that is that they've not delivered inside the ring, with Lashley having already kicked the tag team to the side, only to bring them back for them all to lose at Fastlane.

If WWE wants this group to be taken seriously they need to get aggressive and match up their words with action. This group has all the potential, but the booking for the trio needs to be taken seriously in the coming months.

2 Feature Midcard Titles

Gunther Intercontinental Champion Raw October 2, 2023 Cropped

Fastlane has a tight five-match card that was kept to a nice pace that meant nothing dragged, but all matches were given good time. However, it did feel like another match could have been added, and moving forward it would be good to see at least one of the mid-card titles defended.

Rey Mysterio was in action, albeit not a title match, but putting a Gunther match on during this historic reign wouldn't be a bad thing. WWE needs to feature the titles to make fans buy into them as important, and having them defended at premium live events is part of that.

1 Tensions Boil In The Judgment Day

rhea-ripley-judgment-day-wwe

The Judgment Day has gone through a tough time recently with Dominik Mysterio losing his North American Championship, and while he regained that, Finn Balor and Damian Priest have now dropped the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

A big reason for that was JD McDonagh's interference not going as planned, because he actually cost them the match. That's something that WWE can now play into as he continues to try to join the group via Finn Balor, which should cause issues with Priest, adding another wrinkle to this storyline.
