At the time of writing, Julia Hart’s gimmick in AEW is that of a one-eyed cheerleader who seems to be going through a goth phase but does not want to talk about it. The 20-year-old may have only been in the wrestling business for a brief moment, but she has a bright future no matter what company she works for.

However, for those who aren’t up to speed on who Julia Hart is or where she came from, let us here at TheSportster fill you in by giving you 10 things you may not have known about Hart previously. Let's learn more about the young AEW wrestler who wears an eye patch!
10 She Is The Youngest Member Of The AEW Roster
Let’s start off with a fairly obvious one because, at 20 years of age, you aren’t going to find many people on the AEW roster who can genuinely say that they can’t legally drink. However, Julia Hart is still under the legal drinking age in the United States, and she has only been on earth for a little over two decades.
Born on November 8, 2001, Hart is undoubtedly the youngest member of the AEW roster with still a few months (at the time of writing at least) before she hits her 21st birthday. Meaning that when AEW travels to Las Vegas for Double or Nothing later this month, Julia will have to stand on the sidelines while the rest of the roster can enjoy more mature activities.
9 Julia Hart Shares Her Birthday With Keith Lee
November 8, 2001, must have been a special day in the Hart household as Julia entered the world, however it was also a special day for someone else in Wichita Falls, Texas. On that date, someone who Julia would later call a colleague celebrated their 17th birthday.
That’s right, Julia Hart shares a birthday with former NXT Champion and current AEW star Keith Lee. The Limitless One might have actually been able to legally drive by the time Hart was born, which makes everyone reading this article feel very old already.
8 Hart Got Into Wrestling Through Video Games
10 days after Julia Hart was born, WWE released their first game on the PlayStation 2, Smackdown! Just Bring It (do you feel old yet, you’re getting there, aren’t you?). In the years that followed, the PS2 titles became some of the most beloved wrestling video games in history and a gateway for new fans to get into the product.

Julia Hart was one of those fans who played video games as a child, completely unaware that the game was based on real people. When she finally saw that wrestling was not only real but was technically a job for some people, that’s when she knew what she wanted to do.
7 Julia Hart Was A 2-Time Cheerleading Champion As A Teenager
Sometimes it helps for your gimmick in wrestling to have some sort of real-life connection as you can give off a much more convincing performance to the audience in attendance and at home. With this in mind, Julia Hart being a cheerleader is perfect considering she was excellent at the sport before she got into wrestling.
Hart was a two-time national cheerleading champion as part of a team at Jefferson High School in her home state of Wisconsin. The team that she was a part of won the Milwaukee Championship Division, with Hart even stating that she wishes she did more with her cheerleading career given her success.
6 Hart Was Originally Trained By Mr. Kennedy... Kennedy!
Ken Anderson has started to wind down on his in-ring career (despite the fact he wrestled a match as recently as May 7, 2022, but that was only his third match in two and a half years). The former Ken Kennedy has transitioned into a trainer/coaching role at The Academy wrestling school in Wisconsin.
The school has since closed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, one of the young faces that came through the doors of the former TNA World Champion’s school was a teenage Julia Hart. She, of course, was only there to learn as she couldn’t technically wrestle due to being underage.
5 Julia Hart Made Her Official Debut At 18 Years Old
Julia Hart has the rare distinction of being one of the few wrestlers who actually made their official in-ring debut after AEW had started, even going as far as debuting after Dynamite started, of which there are certainly only a handful of people who can say that.
After being so eager and excited to get in the ring for the first time, Julia Hart made her official debut on November 22, 2019, at the tender age of 18 against Alyna Limin for Midwest All-Star Wrestling. Hart picked up the victory before quickly uprooting her life to live in Atlanta to train at the Nightmare Factory.
4 Hart Made An Appearance For WWE In 2019
Less than one month into her in-ring career and she’s already in WWE? What a story! Not really, but it is a confirmed fact that long before she made her first appearance for AEW, and long before she would become the youngest member of the AEW roster, she got her foot in the door at WWE.
Like many wrestlers who need an opportunity, it was only as an extra, but she did get some extended TV time by extras standards. Hart was one of the lucky folks eating KFC at ringside during the Raw Tag Team Championship match between The Viking Raiders and The O.C. at TLC 2019. The match ended as a double count-out and Karl Anderson got put through the table and the chicken as well. What a first showing for young Julia!
3 Julia Hart Is Currently Dating Lee Johnson
Following the AEW trend of wrestlers dating each other like Adam Cole and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti, and Jungle Boy and Anna Jay, Julia Hart has found love in a familiar place in the form of “Big Shotty” Lee Johnson.
It’s unclear exactly when the two young stars first met, however, the duo revealed that they were romantically involved on an episode of Rhodes to the Top in 2021. For the most part, they have kept their relationship private at the time of writing, unlike some of the couples in AEW, but you can still find them being very cute together on social media.
2 Brian Pillman Jr Wanted Her To Join The Varsity Blonds
It’s not often that you can make an impression on your first day on the job, but that’s exactly what happened with Julia Hart when she eventually made it to AEW after her training at the Nightmare Factory had gone well. After wrestling three matches in a block taping in April 2021, Hart was given an opportunity on the first day.

After speaking with Cody Rhodes and Tony Khan, Brian Pillman Jr. thought it would be a great idea to include Hart in the Varsity Blonds given her extensive background as a cheerleader. Pillman and partner Griff Garrison were, of course, playing the jocks who needed a female counterpart, and Hart got paired with the group right from the word go.
1 Malakai Black Made Her Sister Cry
And so we circle back to the modern-day where Julia Hart’s mind, body, and soul has been partially corrupted by the poison mist of Malakai Black. That attack took place on Dynamite in December 2021. Hart hasn’t been fully corrupted as of yet, but when the initial poisoning took place, it left a lasting impression on Julia and especially her younger sister.
Julia Hart revealed in a tweet after the show went off the air that her seven-year-old sister called her, crying after seeing Black spray her big sister with poison mist. Julia has since been fine and wrestled a large number of matches since the incident with Black, but it seems like it’s only a matter of time before it’s Julia herself making her little sister cry.
