Throughout his career, John Cena has primarily been a singles competitor, having dominated the main event scene for over a decade. However, that doesn't mean he has never worked in the tag team division.

At various points in his career, Cena has worked in tag team matches and during that time he's tagged with a real array of partners. Some of them have been memorable, but other partners have certainly been forgotten by fans.

10 Rhyno

This is a very random tag team that many fans will not be aware of, but it did happen during a 2003 SmackDown house show. At the time, Rhyno was certainly a major star in the company and the two of them together could have been a really fun team.

Instead, they were just a random pairing that got thrown together for a one-off match where they competed, and lost, against Los Guerreros.

9 The Rock

This is one that some fans might remember, mainly because this tag team match was on such a high profile event at Survivor Series. It's just that whenever people think about The Rock and John Cena, they tend to think about them as opponents, not partners.

However, in what was The Rock's first official match back, the two megastars teamed up and competed against The Miz and R-Truth. It wasn't a particularly great match, but it was one for the record books that many might have forgotten.

8 Billy Kidman

Billy Kidman is a tremendous professional wrestler who really worked well against everyone that he came up against. While he competed against John Cena a lot, at one point in his career, he also teamed with him.

The two men worked together in WWE Tag Team Title tournament in 2002. They did come up short against Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit, which is likely why they were easily forgotten about as a pairing.

7 Dawn Marie

Speaking of Billy Kidman, from their time as a tag team, the two men did have a lengthy rivalry together in singles competition. It then spilt out into a series of intergender tag team bouts.

While Billy Kidman worked alongside Torrie Wilson, John Cena paired up with Dawn Marie. The teams faced off countless times, which includes a match at the 2002 Rebellion PPV, but this is one that fans have forgotten.

6 Luke Harper

For a long period of time, John Cena focused on battling against the Wyatt Family, therefore him teaming with a member of the group is something people didn't see coming. However, during the build-up to WrestleMania 33, that's exactly what happened.

He worked alongside Luke Harper, who was breaking out as a babyface at the time with Randy Orton causing tension amongst the group. He worked with Harper against Wyatt and Orton at several live events, creating a fun tag team dynamic.

5 Matt Hardy

Throughout the course of his WWE career, Matt Hardy has teamed up with his brother Jeff, to create one of the best teams in history, but he also partnered with John Cena at one stage.

The two men teamed up for two episodes of SmackDown, first taking on Rikishi and Tajiri, and then again to face Edge and Rey Mysterio. They proved to be very successful as they won both times.

4 Yoshi Tatsu

For the vast majority of his WWE career, Yoshi Tatsu was a mid-card talent who never really competed anywhere near the level of the main event spot. However, during a WWE tour of Japan, the two men got to team up in the main event.

With John Cena being the face of the company, his spot was a guarantee, but considering Yoshi is from Japan, WWE knew he was going to be a hit. They put him as Cena's partner against Sheamus and Chris Jericho.

3 David Otunga

Lots of wrestling fans forget that David Otunga had a lengthy period working as a wrestler for WWE outside of his run in Nexus. He's spent more time working for the company outside of the ring than in it, therefore it is easy to forget they teamed up.

However, it certainly did happen with the two powerhouses joining forces on Raw and at Bragging Rights in 2010. Not only did they team up, but they actually won the Tag Team Championships together, which is something a lot of fans don't recall.

2 Frankie Kazarian

That's right, the AEW Superstar is a former tag team partner of John Cena, despite the fact he never got a solid run with WWE. This match (which was technically a six-man tag,)  actually took place in APW as well, making this one many people won't know about.

Frankie Kazarian is best known for his tag team work with Christopher Daniels, and Cena is someone most wrestling fans don't associate with him. However, they joined up alongside Keiji Sakoda to score the win.

1 Rico Costantino

When it comes to tag team partners that the WWE Universe has forgotten for John Cena they don't come bigger than Rico Costantino. He is someone that wrestling fans best remember from the Billy & Chuck storyline, but during his developmental days, he was Cena's tag team partner.

These were the days when John Cena wrestled as Prototype and the two of them had a great run together. They held the Tag Team Titles down in OVW and really developed great chemistry, although the main roster never got to see it.
