As one of the biggest signings in AEW's short history, Bryan Danielson has noted on multiple occasions how much he has been enjoying his run in the company. But, 'The American Dragon' has spoken recently on how he sees his career winding down in the near future, but still has a long term vision for his involvement in pro wrestling.

Bryan Danielson On Finishing As A Full-Time Wrestler
The multi-time world champion recently appeared on an episode of One Fall with Ron Funches, interviewed about many aspects of his life and career. On the topic of when his last match might come and how he envisions it, Danielson divulged his current plans to reduce his schedule in the coming years. 'I’m not gonna be a full-time wrestler for much longer,' the submission specialist shared, 'When my AEW contract is up, that’s pretty much me being done being a full-time wrestler'.
Bryan Danielson joined AEW last year, a surprise appearance at 2021's All Out, following Adam Cole as the second landmark signing of the night. Though the specifics haven't been shared, AEW has made a habit of signing marquee talent to multi-year deals, with Danielson signed to a 3-year deal, meaning that fans still have close to two more years of a full time Danielson on their screens.

Bryan Danielson Won't Stop Wrestling Anytime Soon
Although an end to a consistent Bryan Danielson presence in wrestling is sure to be a loss, wrestling fans can find comfort in the fact that 'The American Dragon' has much more ahead of him in the ring. Danielson followed up by sharing 'I like the way some people like Terry Funk and Jerry Lawler and those kind of guys do it where they do it for fun, right? And don’t do it all the time, they do it here or there, that sort of thing. But as long as I have fun doing it and as long as I experience joy doing it, it’s something I wanna continue doing for the rest of my life.'
Danielson reflected that after having to be forced into retirement in early 2016, 'every time that I get a chance to wrestle, it’s beautiful'. As for what his last match may end up looking like, Danielson added that 'I don’t have any vision of what I want my last match to be. I certainly don’t envision it being some epic match that everybody talks about. In my mind, it would be a match that I would just be doing at some local indie in front of 300 people that are just like, okay, I’m just going out and having some fun and it just turns out to be my last match'.
