On this day ... Edge got physical in the ring for the first time in years before SummerSlam.
It all went down during a segment on the kickoff show involving Elias -- who was doing his usual schtick in the ring insulting the hometown crowd -- which prompted an interruption from "The Rated-R SuperStar."
Edge then played up to the crowd and walked into the ring before hitting his signature Spear.
The former WWE star has been retired since 2011 due to a cervical spinal stenosis.
