WWE Has Abandoned The On-Screen Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins' Relationship
In terms of high-profile professional wrestling couples, it is safe to say that right now, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins are perhaps only to second to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Rollins and Lynch are certified stars atop of WWE, with them each having countless championships and show-stealing matches to their respective names by this point. Aside from an uncomfortable period in which their real-life relationship was brought into the kayfabe world of weekly WWE TV, it seems as though their relationship is a wholesome one, with the pair now starting a family with one another. It is good to see that they’ve overcome what could have been a disastrous part of their time together.
Seth Rollins And Becky Lynch Became A Couple Naturally
In 2019, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch were at the top of the WWE food chain. WrestleMania 35 saw them having their most significant career moments. Rollins would beat Brock Lesnar to become the Universal Champion at the beginning of the night. The main event saw “The Man” Becky Lynch become part of the first group of women to ever main event a WrestleMania, with the extremely over Lynch beating Charlotte and Ronda Rousey to become both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion. It was a huge moment for them as wrestlers. Behind the scenes, the people behind the characters, Colby Lopez and Rebecca Quin were falling in love.
Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins' relationship was one which happened naturally. The pair were initially just friends, with them having a good relationship for years since their very first meeting. All in all, they simply just had good chemistry, opened up about their lives and decided to be with one another. Fans are often interested in the behind the scenes lives of wrestlers, but this relationship was one without much drama or anything of the sort.
WWE Milked Seth Rollins’ And Becky Lynch’s Relationship For All It's Worth
As many celebrity couples do these days, the pair made their relationship official over social media. WWE decided to cash in. If Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch were super popular alone, then it could be a plus to put them together on TV and acknowledge their relationship. They were used together in multiple storylines and mixed tag matches. Fans loved it at first. It was fun to see Lynch and Rollins together in the ring. But as WWE often does, they began to shove the relationship down the fans' throats (nowhere near as bad as AEW does with Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo fortunately). An odd angle saw Rollins and Lynch team up to take on and beat Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans at Extreme Rules 2019. After that, the couple quit their on-screen pairing.

In an interview with Sports Media With Richard Deitsch, Rollins spoke about why the two didn’t work as an on-screen duo on Raw. “We tried to make the best of it, but I don’t think either of us were terribly comfortable with it. Even though we have incredible chemistry as people, as performers, our characters never really vibed on-screen.”
Seth Rollins And Becky Lynch Got Married And Became Parents
Behind the scenes, the two’s relationship continued, with an engagement announced in August 2019. On TV, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch would be fine without each other. Becky Lynch carried the Raw Women’s Championship until after WrestleMania 36 in 2020 when pregnancy forced her to relinquish the title. Rollins would lose his title back to Brock Lesnar, before beating Lesnar again at SummerSlam. While Lynch took a hiatus from WWE, Rollins stayed at the top, turning heel with his great run as The Messiah and The Visionary.

On December 4, 2020, their first child, a daughter named Roux, was born. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch would follow that up by getting married on June 29, 2021. On Raw, you might see their relationship brought up briefly here and there, but WWE has yet to put them back together. It’s a temptation worth resisting. The two are maybe the best in the business, but they don’t need each other on TV. While it would be fun to see them together again, they are a couple who don’t need the other to make them popular. The wrestling characters of Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch are doing just fine on their own.
WWE Barely Mentions The Relationship Between Seth Rollins And Becky Lynch Anymore
When Seth Rollins turned heel in 2019, he and Becky Lynch were firmly kept apart on-screen, with Vince McMahon unable to even give in to any temptations to pair them back up due to Lynch leaving WWE on maternity leave. When she returned in 2021, she was also a heel. If there was ever a time for WWE to have teamed them back up, it was in the fall of 2021 when the two were both huge villains with similar personalities of being flamboyant over-the-top villains. WWE didn’t fall into the trap of a potentially bad rerun of their on-screen relationship though, but there were parallels that fans noticed about their two respective characters.

Both Rollins and Lynch were seemingly trying to one-up each other when it came to outrageous outfits every week, as they wore increasingly ridiculous attires. There was undoubtedly a behind the scene discussion for this, with it being too much of a coincidence for them to both decide to do the exact same thing. It was a nice way to remind fans that they were a pairing without them having to actually reference it.
In terms of mentions, there have been comments made in passing given that their relationship is now common knowledge amongst the WWE Universe. For instance, Seth Rollins’ personal feud with Matt Riddle saw the latter bring up Rollins’ relationship with Lynch, using it to make jibes at his rival. However, small comments amidst feuds seem to be the most that WWE is using their relationship on screen nowadays, which is certainly for the best.
