September 26, 2023 was Jade Cargill day. In the morning came the official news that the former TBS Champion had left AEW to sign a multi-year deal with WWE. It was reported that Cargill would immediately begin training at the WWE Performance Center. Later, WWE shared a video of Cargill walking into the Performance Center, before releasing photos of her in a WWE ring.
On such a busy day, Jade Cargill found time to give an interview to The Ringer Wrestling Show, where she talked about why she left AEW, and what it is like to be in WWE. “It feels great, you know, I feel like I was just in preparation for the grand stage. I felt like this was always the mission. I felt like the shoe fit. I felt like this was gonna happen, honestly this is all expected, so I’m excited to be here... I want to create a legacy, I want to be in the Hall of Fame, I want to wrestle with the best Women in the world, there’s no grander stage than this stage, the opportunities are endless for this company, it’s a no-brainer, it was very welcoming, I didn’t have any second thoughts about it all, it was easy.”
Cargill also spoke about what it means as a Black woman to reach the spotlight of WWE. “I am here to create foot-steps for the next generation, I want to see little black boys, little black girls, kids in general look up to me and to know there’s no ceilings. I wear the shatter glass because I’m here to break the glass ceilings. I don’t want there to be no boundaries. I want us to go out there. I want us to excel. I don’t want anybody to think this isn’t for us. I want them to say, ‘hey she did it, I can do it, and I can do it better’ and I am totally okay with that.”

Jade Cargill Talks About AEW & Cody Rhodes
Jade Cargill talked about her disappointments in AEW too. “I wish I could’ve worked with the amazing women who are holding the main belts. That’s one of the things I really wanted to do. A couple of them reached out to me and wished they could’ve had that match and I wish so as well. I could’ve gone on the mic with a lot of those ladies. But, TV time is short, and we have to work with what we got, but I could’ve had some dream matches before arriving to the grand stage.”
Before Jade Cargill, WWE's other big AEW signing was Cody Rhodes. What impact did Rhodes play in Cargill joining him in WWE? “He was top three, and not third. He is a phenomenal man. I've seen what the business did for him, I've seen him be the stellar athlete that he is. I didn't see any different for myself. He was one of the guys that led me to a great decision."
If Cody Rhodes helped get Jade Cargill to WWE, you have to wonder who Rhodes and Cargill together can get to leave AEW for WWE next.
