We're already in the second half of 2023, and we have seen many impressive WWE matches, such as Rhea Ripley versus Charlotte Flair, the Triple Threat match between Gunther, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus, and The Usos versus Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. But in this second part of the year, we will surely also see some incredible matches.

There are several matches that are in the plans and that should happen this year, sooner rather than later. There are some storylines that are leading towards certain matches, there are also some bouts that the fans want to see and that are possible, and there are other matches that just seem logical because there are no other clear options. Below we predict some matches that fans will see in WWE before 2024.
10 Cody Rhodes Vs. Gunther
Ever since Cody Rhodes and Gunther faced off in the 2023 Royal Rumble match, everyone wanted to see more. The fans, Triple H, and even Cody and Gunther themselves now want a singles match.

There are reports that this match is in consideration for WrestleMania 40, but there is also the possibility of Cody facing Roman Reigns at the Showcase of the Immortals, so the match between Cody and Gunther could happen this year, or perhaps their WrestleMania feud will begin this year. The fact is that it is very likely that we will see this match before 2024.
9 Becky Lynch Vs. Rhea Ripley
Becky Lynch versus Rhea Ripley is a match that virtually every wrestling fan wants to see, and good news, it's happening this year. Rhea Ripley will likely face Raquel Rodriguez at SummerSlam, assuming she retains the Women's World Title, Ripley will need a high caliber challenger for the rest of the year, and on the RAW roster Becky Lynch is the only wrestler with the credibility to face Ripley. Plus, this is likely to be a long feud and extend all the way to WrestleMania 40.
8 IYO SKY Vs. Asuka
IYO SKY should cash in her Money In The Bank Contract on the WWE Women's Title, on Asuka, or whoever holds the title. Somehow or another, that should lead to a singles match between IYO SKY and Asuka. It's a match that fans want to see, and it's certain to be a banger, as these two Japanese women are phenomenal in the ring, not to mention that their promos are fun as well. You can bet this match will happen before 2024.
7 IYO SKY Vs. Bayley
At SummerSlam 2022, IYO SKY teamed up with Bayley and Dakota Kai to form Damage CTRL. Perhaps the stable didn't reach its potential, but now there's a good storyline between Bayley and IYO SKY, who are on the verge of splitting up. If SKY becomes champion, it is likely that Bayley will be one of her first challengers, and that is something that history demands. So, one could expect a match between Bayley and IYO SKY this year.
6 Finn Balor Vs. Damian Priest
Judgment Day members Finn Balor and Damian Priest have had some animosity in recent weeks. They certainly made peace recently on Monday Night Raw, but it seems that it is temporary and that sooner or later they will face each other. They both have the same goal, the World Heavyweight Championship, and they will put their friendship aside to achieve it. So, this is a match that fans can look forward to before 2024.
5 Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn Vs. Alpha Academy
The Undisputed Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have a long row of challengers and there are many options on the table, but a particular team with which they should cross is Alpha Academy.

Can you imagine how much fun the segments between Alpha Academy, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn would be? That's must-watch TV. Plus, the matches would be great too, because when Chad Gable, Owens and Zayn are in the ring, nothing can go wrong (not to mention Otis always plays his part to perfection).
4 Roman Reigns Vs. Solo Sikoa
Roman Reigns will face Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023, and whatever happens, one could expect Solo Sikoa to eventually turn on The Tribal Chief. Solo won't be loyal to Roman forever, and now that The Bloodline is falling apart, it seems like a good opportunity for Sikoa to go his own way as well. So, Reigns and Sikoa will probably collide before 2024.
3 Roman Reigns Vs. Randy Orton
In kayfabe, Roman Reigns was the one who injured Randy Orton and kept him out of the ring for over a year. So, now that there are reports that The Viper is about to return, he should seek revenge and face The Tribal Chief. They could have their long-awaited match at Survivor Series 2023, for example, once Roman has finished the storyline with his family.
2 Cameron Grimes Vs. Grayson Waller
Cameron Grimes and Grayson Waller are two of the newest NXT call-ups, both need the spotlight, and because of their styles, a feud between them would be great. The heel/babyface dynamic would be perfect, and they would probably have chemistry in the ring. In fact, it is surprising that they never had a singles match in NXT. Grimes and Waller could showcase their skills in a feud on SmackDown this year.
1 LA Knight Vs. Austin Theory
LA Knight is the most over wrestler in the world right now, but what’s next for him? He didn’t win the Money In The Bank briefcase (what the fans wanted), and so far, he doesn’t have any feuds on the build. If WWE wants to capitalize on LA Knight’s popularity, he should win a title this year. And considering he is on SmackDown, he is unlikely to challenge Roman Reigns, then his goal would be the United States Title, which belongs to Austin Theory. So, LA Knight will defeat Austin Theory and will become the United States Champion before 2024.
