On December 31, 2017, Logan Paul posted a video titled "We found a dead body in the Japanese suicide forest...” As the name suggests, Paul did indeed find a person’s body in Japan’s Aokigahara forest, which is also called the “suicide forest.” It has since been removed from YouTube, which Logan did himself after a major backlash from people all over the world. He was making light of a situation that should’ve never been exploited like this, and it had a severe impact on his career and public image. Most people felt disgusted after watching the video, and it also cost him many business opportunities. Logan posted an apology video on YouTube two days after the original upload, but people weren’t ready to forgive him just yet.
This was the biggest controversy involving Logan Paul at that time, but he had a bad reputation long before that. Most of his fanbase consisted of young kids, and people just didn’t like his attitude and how he came across in his videos.

In recent months, several allegations have been made against Logan Paul. For those who don’t know, CoffeeZilla – a YouTube channel that exposes crypto-based scams – posted a video series on Paul’s CryptoZoo project and called it Logan’s “biggest scam.” Paul described CryptoZoo as “a really fun game that makes you money,” but nobody really profited from it – except for a few people. The game allowed users to buy NFT eggs using a token called $ZOO. Players could hatch the eggs, breed animals with other animals, earn yields from them, and sell these NFTs to make a profit.
However, nothing worked as Paul originally promised. After CoffeeZilla published the three-part video series, Logan Paul addressed the topic and essentially said it wasn’t his fault and he didn’t know he had hired criminals for this project. He did say he would pay $1.8 million from his own pocket to reimburse the investors, but even after months, he's yet to fulfill his promise.
