Triple H has instigated a number of changes in WWE since he was appointed head of creative, most of which have involved him bringing back released wrestlers. The Game clearly hasn't been all that enamored with what has happened to NXT while he was away, even if he won't admit it publicly. The logo has been changed and its roster, along with Raw and SmackDown, is in the process of being reshuffled.

NXT Loses The 2.0

The new NXT logo is silver and gold rather than multi-colored, and now it seems the 2.0 label has been dropped from the show entirely. NXT was rebranded NXT 2.0 when it underwent a revamp in 2021, and right before Tuesday's show, Wrestling Observer Radio reported it would be losing that part of its name moving forward.

What wasn't clear is just how quickly the 2.0 would disappear. Hours later, this week's NXT aired live on the USA Network and the 2.0 addendum already appears to be gone. No 2.0 attached to the reports and photos on WWE.com, and where the new silver and gold logo could be seen across the show on Tuesday night, there was no 2.0 after it.

No Need For 2.0 Moving Forward

It certainly makes sense that the 2.0 would be dropped now that NXT is undergoing its second revamp in two months, even though this one isn't quite as drastic as the last. It would have meant the new logo would need its own silver and gold 2.0, or potentially would have needed to be labeled 3.0. Doing that might have started a dangerous precedent in which some fans would have expected the show to be altered at the end of every summer, with a new number stuck on the end of a fresh logo each time.

While elements have changed and NXT now seems to be a blend of Triple H's vision and what the brand became in his absence, whether big events will be called TakeOvers again hasn't been confirmed. There were reports earlier this month that Halloween Havoc would be labeled a TakeOver, but so far none of the branding or advertising of the show includes the old name for NXT's special events.
