Just a half-year after being released from the WWE James Ellsworth is expected to make a return at Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view in Rosemont, Illinois - and he just might return to his hold habits.

According to a rumor from Cageside Seats, Ellsworth is expected to interfere in the SmackDown Women's Championship match - where he will help old friend Carmella keep her title against Asuka.

If that's the plan, it will be a fitting way for Ellsworth to return to WWE. Last year, he interfered in the women's Money in the Bank ladder match and helped Carmella snatch the briefcase.

However, SmackDown Live GM Daniel Bryan ordered a rematch after Carmella cheated to win. Once again, Ellsworth lent her a helping hand - and Carmella would go on to cash in her MITB contract to defeat Charlotte days after WrestleMania 34.

In his first run with WWE, Ellsworth was used as a meek and nervous character who didn't really put up much of a fight in the ring. He was squashed by Braun Strowman twice, then adopted the 'Any Man With Two Hands Has A Fighting Chance' moniker. He then got involved in the AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose feud - often interfering to screw over The Phenomenal One.

Since leaving the WWE in November, Ellsworth has competed on the independent circuit and made an appearance for Impact Wrestling in May. It's unknown if his return to the WWE is a one-off or if we'll see him more frequently, but there's no denying how entertaining and humorous his character was on television.

Logic would suggest that Asuka defeats Carmella to finally win some championship gold, but it sounds like Ellsworth is going to once again interfere and find a way to help his former on-screen girlfriend retain the title.
